Charming collectable plate for a piece of Florida history, the plate is approximately 12" in diameter. $35.00, plus shipping.
History: Burdines was considered "the Florida store." In 1971. Burdines was the largest suburban store south of New York, and was 100 years old in 1998. In 2005 Macy's dropped the name Burdines and replaced the Burdines name with Macys. The memorable history of Burdines is that it embraced the natural tropical environment of Florida, inspired by beaches, palm trees, the sun and sky - which was the trademark of the Burdines design in and outside of the stores. Greatly influenced by the uniqueness of Florida, the items Burdines sold emphasized the lifestyle of Florida - like this striking tropical fish plate.
