Vintage Miniature French Village - Limoges Porcelain

Rare handmade, hand painted Limoges porcelain architectural building sculptures by J. P. Gault (NOT RESIN). The buildings are designed from actual charming French villages. Estimated to be about 30 years old. Gold paper label says “fait main (handmade), modele depose, J. P. Gault, St. Paul" on each piece.
In this collection of four buildings, the buildings range from 3 2/3 “ to the smallest at 1 ½”. The widths vary from 2 ½” to 1 ½”. These rare treasures are carved and painted on all four sides and the top, and have a texture added to make them look and feel real - which encourages you to pick them up to caress the sides and tops to feel the tile roof, the steps, the doors, windows and awnings.
Three of the buildings are in perfect condition (all stickers worn slightly from age), the fourth tallest building has a small chip on the backside about an 1/8th of an inch. History - about 30 years ago the two Gault brothers came together to make handmade miniature architectural pieces, each from a single block of Limoges. The process for making these charming miniature buildings is that they are constructed in fourteen stages, which take about forty days to create. Pricing is estimated to be seven times more for the Limoges architecture pieces than the resin constructions.
